    After a 6 year hiatus, I'm back with a 250R!

Hey everyone, I joined this site back in 2006 when I was 16 years old! I had a 200x with a 200s motor. I didn't have it very long before some things happened in my life and I was forced to get rid of my toys. Fast forward 6 years. A friend of mine had two 85 250r's, and was nice enough to sell one to me! So here she is. Its nothing special, but I've wanted one for years, and my dream has finally come true! It needs some work, but its a good start. Now on to some pictures!

Yes, I plan on changing the back tires for sure haha. Might stick with this front tire for now as it's brand new, although I find it a bit on the large side

holy spikes batman those are some gnarly spikes and tires. It looks like a really nice 250r do u have plans on putting some better rear fenders on it cause you will get really muddy in the trails.

Yes, I plan on getting front and rear fenders very soon. I've only taken it on a couple short rides and I was soaked haha. The guy I bought it off of only had 2 sets of tires, these ones for when he rode on the ice, and paddle tires. They are on brand new ITP wheels, so I figured I'd be better off with these. What would be my best bet for plastics? If I'm going to drop some money on new ones, I'd like them to at least fit nicely. Also going to need new fork boots too, but black instead of the blue.

Black fork boots would look really cool on there. Also i would recomend getting some meier fenders they are really good but you have to cut out your seat and mounting holes for both the front and rear fenders. In the long run its worth the extra time because they look really good.

black would be good for style but would show scratches and be a pain to clean.

Would anyone happen to know if there's a 250R owners club thread? Kinda like the 200x one?? If there is, my searching hasn't found it.. Need some inspiration/guidance on what direction to take with my R!

WOW...i would be afraid of my foot slipping off and my leg gettin shreded! if you still have the option i would take the stock rims w/ paddles..just my opinion. Also hows the handling w/ that monster truck tire on the front? I'd check out trail wolf's. Maier is about your only option for new plastics. Nice R overall and glad to see another dream come true!

Thanks guys. The guy I bought my R from is a good friend, so I still have his wheels with paddle tires. He said I can keep them until next spring when I can afford new tires. His R is in a million pieces, he's planning a cr500 swap! The front tire is on the large side to say the least... Definitely need a smaller one. I will order all 3 at the same time. Its currently out of commission as well, it needs rear axle bearings. The Golf is my baby! its a 98 2.0 5 speed. I've owned it for 4 years now. Looking for a VR6 donor car Thanks for all the kind words! it's definitely surreal walking into my little workshop and seeing a 250R in there! Every time I see it, its just like "holy crap, I have a 250R!!" haha
