Hello Everyone, Just bought a 1985 250sx last week. I love it. Had super fun romping through the mud. Takes me back to "85" when you could rent these things from u-haul. lol Good times! Look foreward to the forum.

Check gear oil in the rear axle
it's only 3 point 3 ounces.

If you change the oil filter, make SURE it goes in the RIGHT way.

Nice Machine, I ride the same and its FANTASTIC. Goes everywhere and still plenty fast enough to rip it up. Keep up on the diff and oil changes, and check your air filter , no one had looked at mine in 20 years judging by the way it fell apart. Every thing I've needed to know I have found here & the manual comes in handy. HAVE FUN

Thanks everyone! Yea! It was in pretty good condition. The p/o sprayed painted the Sh*t out of the engine and rear shock area. But it's ok! I do have one question tho. Is there any issue with putting the 350x dual headlight on my 250? Saw some guy named Jeff's 250 on youtube and those dual headlights look awsome!

Good friend of mine (member Chillian) has a 350x headlight assembly on his SX. Works fine. But he does have a 1st gen 200x front end on his SX though... If you want to see som pics he has some on his profile page. Just click on my name, find him in my friends list and click on his name to view his profile. Once in his profile, click on his photo album. Or you could put "Chillian" in the member search.

I have a friend that grew up in Southern CA, and in 1988 they bought 150 Honda ATC 185, 200, 250SX and 250es's from a U Haul auction. They fixed and sold all but 8. 5 were for parts, and they kept 3. Of course, parts were still available from Honda. He is trying to see if he can dig up some photos.

Just remember, he is running a 200x front end on his SX. I'm not sure the 350x headlight will fit as well on the wider front end on a stock SX.

He hasn't been on here in a while, I'll have to get his butt to check in more often! I'm sure he can help with any questions you have about your SX. His was pretty rough when he bought it a few years back. He did a heck of a job getting it looking good again.

Ya! We had a super u-haul near my house and at the first flake of snow my older brothers would go and pick everyone they had. It was Great!
