250sx oil filter on right way?

Just did fluids and filters again, but first time for oil filter, and after all the warnings about installing the oil filter the right way I checked the manual and it looks like I did it right , I just took for granted that the way it came out would be the way it would go back in. The divet on the side of the filter goes towards motor with the spring in it (right) and the hole goes to the outside in the picture. I guess if it was wrong it probably would have blown after the all day tear it was on last weekend.

You mustn't have an OEM filter that says "this side out" which is no big deal, I have used Fram, Emgo (Emglo??) IDK, etc etc. Just make sure the spring goes in the motor first (I keep it in by using grease or laying the trike flat on it's side) and make sure the pictures look correct in the book as far as how it was installed. Spring in 1st, small seal goes out so it forces the oil through the filter.

Ya its a fram ,I know not the best but better than what was there.I laid mine over on its side as well and the little seal is to the outside.I put about 7 hours of hard riding on it the other day and its still fine so I guess its right. Thanks
