    Want your opinion.

First of all, I do NOT want to start a political debate here.

I want to know what people think of Ron Paul. What you like or dont like, and maybe some "Why" if you dont like him. Every time he is mentioned on TV, the media sneers. Truth is, a LOT of young people love this guy, and I really like most of his policies because he truly believes and fights for our individual freedoms, rights and liberties.

Lets not start a debate here, I just want to know how people really think, because the media ignores this guy and makes him out like he has no supporters.

What I DONT understand is most conservative talk shows ignore him too, even though their ideologies are closely aligned. I dont get why there is such a blackout on this guy, yet he filled the KU Auditorium less than a week ago, and that area of Kansas is REALLY Liberal.

Mods, if this gets out of hand, LOCK IT FAST. I am just looking for real people's thoughts here.

I like most of what ron says ,but I dont think he has any chance of winning . the best he can do is get peaple to THINK about doing things differently then the "same old" . He is right about the debt, the military should not be the world police . we need to change the way they are deployed , we dont need a base in every corner of the world , when needed our military should hit hard , get it done and get out, not hang out and be targets ,let the durca's build their own goverments , etc.. IF they act responsibly no prob , if not hit them again and get out!! lets stop wasteing our resources, our brave men/women on countrys that will never be SANE, ....

I dont think he does either. Even if he got 90% of the popular vote, I dont think he would get the electoral votes. If he wasnt so blatantly ignored, I think he would have a better chance. But, almost everyone I talk to likes him, but says the same exact thing "he has no chance to win". Maybe if people started seeing how much of a following he has, it could turn around. Show all those people they arent outsiders for liking what he has to say.

I honestly believe people that think like this are in the majority, but the media ignores and demonizes us in such a way that it makes us all seem like the minority......

Reality is, free societies throughout history are very rare. The human norm is tyranny and misery. And societies that break this "norm" dont last long because they make too many laws over a course of time, usually for good intents, but eventually they get so clogged up......I'm not here to give a history lesson, but we are very lucky to live where we do, in the time that we do.

I'm a Ron Paul supporter, he seems to be the most level headed and 'Common Thinking' of any candidate in memory. The Media has almost ignored him though, I think because he would be a threat to their ability to exaggerate things.
This is my trike. There are many like it but this one is mine. My trike is my best friend, and it is my life. I must master it as I must master myself. My trike without me is useless. Without my trike, I am useless. I must ride my trike true. My trike and I know that what counts is not the amount of miles we ride, but the time we ride together. My trike is human in it's own ways, therefore I will learn it as my brother. I will learn it's weaknesses, it's strengths, it's parts, and it's soul.

I'd vote for Ron Paul over the rest based on one thing. He tells it like it is.. He isn't going to bs you, he'll tell you the truth whether it will make you mad or make you happy. I can appreciate that. All the rest of the presidential hopefuls look like knuckleheads..

I'm just tired of being lied to by my President.

I like Ron on alot of issues, but there are some that I couldn't disagree with more. That's all I wish to say about that because my reasons would themselves jack this thread into a big political debate/argument.

300rman: As to the conservative media ignoring him, in fact it is quite the opposite. Most I listen to have repeatedly stated over the air that ALL the candidates have an open invitation to come on their show. Ron is doing more ignoring of them than the other way around. Romney won't go on a few as well.... I don't like that at all...

I'm curious as to what criteria you base your voting on? Just an honest inquiry, not to argue. What I am puzzled about is with Perot and Paul at one end of the spectrum, and Nader at the opposite extreme, how you can support both, or do you view 3rd party voting simply as "none of the above"?

I think Paul would make an excellent governor or some other executive office where he does not have to deal with foreign governments.

Paul has had all the same invitations as the other republicans in conservative media channels. He has declined many because he simply entered the race to be heard, and never had any serious intentions as a candidate.

He is currently running for the Republican nomination. If he does not get it, he will not be on the ballot, but I guess you could still write him in.

Honestly, I followed Ross Perot religiously. I like WHAT I have seen and heard from Paul. Having said that,it IS as simple as NOT supporting Either the right or left wing. Again,my choice,,,may be nuts! But that IS how I feel. I have a very open mind, and have watched documentaries and evidence of events that have happened to America which are absolutely horrifying. Paul won't be on the ballot,he will be a right in. He ran republican to gain as much publicity as possible,,I assume. Again, not my cup a tea! JMHO.

Maybe what you mean is not supporting democrat or republican? Again, Nader is the one that baffles me, because he is about as left wing as you can get, too far to the left to even be accepted by democrats, and nothing in common with Perot or Paul.

Unfortunately this country is not "smart" enough for Ron Paul. He wants to cut Gov. spending which steps on the toes of the welfare, Walmart, breeder types, which sadly, has become the majority in this country. It sucks seeing him get beat-up in the media for speaking a little common sence, I honestly don't pay attention anymore. Its not like "they" are actually counting your votes anyway..............

Ever since "Unsafe at any speed" Nader has always seemed a crackpot to me.. Witch trial on the Corvair that mirrors the ban on 3 wheelers...

Yeah sadly, I really dont support anyone in particular. I am not into politics, I really dont have any faith in normal "men" being able to lead a society or government.
No one seems to be able to put diferences aside to gain any forward positive momentum, and even if so there are to many chances for other sectors of govt to gum up the works with policy halting procedures..Meh..Too me, if their lips are moving they are lying.
Here is where my long useless list of stuff nobody cares about should go...
