Question about a minor noise in the engine of my new 225DX

I just bought my 1st Yamaha a 225DX. In pretty damn nice shape too!! At idle there is a slight 'chatter' noise from the right side of the engine in the area of the clutch..

There is no functional issue with the clutch or gears.

I was wondering if this is a characteristic noise for this machine..I am given to think it is as my brother has a 250 Bear Tracker which is pretty much the same engine and I recall hearing from his machine also.

Just thought I would check with those in the know on Yamaha's.



Not sure just how evident it is in this video, but just the same I will supply it.

Well it might not help but on my big red the bolt for the centrifugal clutch backed of allowing the entire assembly to slide back and fort on the shaft and it would make a similar clangy chatter noise when it hit the nut and washer. And my big red shifted fine.

Yeah I hear you partner and the clutch designs are similar..

But I am looking more for information about the characteristic of this machine since I am not familiar with it's traits.
