Well when I took apart the carb and rebuilt it I took note of how everything was and put it back together accordingly and the only thing I changed with the engine was the exhaust and valve clearances (I added a factory 200x supertrapp) curtousey of shortline so when I went to start it yesterday I hooked everything up and opened the gas then I chocked it and started to kick and after maybe 3 kicks she fired up, then I adjusted the throttle screw on the carb a bit to get it to idle properly and that was it, but I also am running a bit rich and it is backfireing so before I drive it tomorrow I am going to move the slide needle down more and hopefully that will solve the problem but if it doesn't then I have the next size smaller main jet that came with my carb kit I got so I will put that in, I also added a motion pro throttle and spent a while getting that adjusted and I still don't like the way it is but it works right, it seems like the cable is longer then stock and it isn't as tight as I would like it in the lever and the carb and I can only adjust it so far.....anyone have any idea's on that one, hope this helped qdude but it probebly won't much as the engine I used was rebuilt a few years ago and I didn't have to get into it like you did......good luck Also this was my first build too I learned alot and the next one will be way better
