85 200x kicker gear problem ?

ok guys finaly got my 200x started and running good with the 12:1 piston but after i got it started i shut it off to do the break in and when i went to start it again i kicked it and the kick lever jamed up so i pulled the little kicker cover off and the driven gear (the one on the left) had broke 2 teethe any one know why and do they make tougher gears?

I know why. 12:1 piston, 25+year old parts. The system is only as good as the weakest link. This is what happens when you go hopping up this old stuff without going over it real well. There will be other parts that will break as well, expect it. LOL

I may have a gear i could sell ya id have to look

Are you sure you lined up the DOTS ...... correctly . if their off its crunch time . every kicker gear / shaft has a punch mark .
