    250R Newb

    I just picked up this 1985 250R today. Its in good shape, other than a stitched up rear fender, and cracked front fork boots, its really clean. tons of power, itll pull a wheelie in any gear. its had the same owner for the last 20 years. the guy said he put a bigger carb on it, and performance exhaust. I know next to nothing about these 250Rs. if you can spot any mods from the pictures, i'd love to know what they are. I paid 1500 for it and i'm wondering if i got a good deal or if i got screwed.

    all i can see on it as far as mods is the exhaust you already mentioned...1500 bucks is pretty much what a good running r goes for these days. so i say you got a decent deal

    That a maier dirt cover on the front wheel. $1500 not badput new fenders and scoops on there and it will look great. I got a set of them black water rear tires and they are good for power slides.What the plans for it?

    My plans are to learn how to ride it lol. From puttering around the yard a few times I can tell its not going to be like riding my KLT 160. Its got a LOT more power. Then I'd like to get some new rear fenders and boots and eventually tear it down and do a ground up resto

    i think so..the guy told me what kind of pipe it was and it was some guys name... but im not well versed enough on these 2 strokes to remember.

    Shroud decals

    What's up with the gold wings on the shroud decals? every other picture of an 85R that i have found have red white and blue wings
