Air cooled carb help please

ok i have an 83 r it's all done and i have been riding it, now, when i first got it i ran it out of gas and it flooded on me and couldn't get it started again, next day got a new sprak plug and first kick it started and ran great went through 3\4 of a tank of gas and it started bogging on me and when i stopped the 3 wheeler is quit saw gas pooring out the bottom, so i got it started and back to the house, took the carb off and cleaned off the outside real good then took the bowl off and cleaned in there really well aswell with the floats, but that was it but the carb back on and a new plug and it ran perfect for about 1 full tank, and now it's doing the same thing, i don't know what the jet sizes are but they should be the stock ones since everything else on it is stock, what else could be the problem how can i fix it, it's 12:30am sunday night and i'm going to go take the carb off right now so any help would be great..

hi Aaron2003.
sure sounds to me that your getting some crud into your carb and it's hanging the float valve open somewhat. the floats you have cleaned connect to it + it controls when the gas in the bowl is allowed to enter.

it never hurts to have a fuel filter added between the tank shut off and the carb and might just cure the troubles.
it might be time to get a carb rebuild kit too ( you get a new float valve thing with it ). sometimes the rubber seat on the end of the valve gets brittle and don't seat like it should.

thanks i think i'll try the filter first i took the entire carb atart tonight and cleaned the hell out of it everything lookkks good but if the filter don't work then i'll hit the rebuild kit thanks

i have an fuel filter between my tank & carb, and it helps alot.
