    ugh frustration........

    Well, went for a usual ride to get some supper at the bar with the old trike.... on the way back it went terrible....
    It started to act like there was no power to it anymore then started smoking then quit... i went to pull it over to start it up again and it was like there was nothing there... i finally got it to start and then it started making a loud noise as if the exaust had came loose, i checked it over and nothing was loose all tight... I got it home and it quit again, i checked it over to come to realise that the head nut at the back left side had fallen off, so i replaced it and it still seems like theres no compression at all, i got it going again and noticed it isnt smking from the exhaust but instead out the breather !!!!! What gives ?! theres no power what so ever, hardley even runs, and its only 3 months since rebuilt...
    When i checked the exhaust over i took off the rear cobra and noticed the asbestos gasket had fallen in and blocked it solid, so i cleaned it all out and put a new head nut on but it keeps comming off every time i take off with it !!!!!!

    Hahahaha, i run a crf230 head pipe with a cobra, it does sound pretty good tho.

    I am sure, but i have run supertrapps on my 200x'sthreewheeler and 200's with never a problem.

    lol, but this doesnt solve my ''smoking from crank breather'' issue
    I'll out a supertrapp on my wish list.

    I have built both. Pm me if you want. I need to know what you rebuilt on the 200s to try and figure out the problem.

    The top end completly, bored 20 over with a wiseco 200x piston and valves.... after the head bolt came out it started leaking at the cylinder head gasket, and it was after that it seems like theres no compression, so i got another nut and tightened them all down but its just the one that keeps comming loose and smokes blue smoke JUST from the crank breather.

    Sounds like your head gasket developed a leak from the bolt coming loose. As for the smoke, its oil burning off, probably from exhaust gasses escaping the cylinder from the gasket leaking. You'll probably have to pull your head and make sure its flat then put on a new head gasket.

    The only way for smoke to come out the breather is by your rings. You need to rebuild your engine again and take a lot more time on the details this time. Sounds as if you have a stripped cylinder stud and you will need at least a new stud and nut. It would possibly help us to know what machine we are dealing with also. But we forgive you being that you were riding home from the bar!

    Yupp sounds like rings or a head gasket. If the head gasket blew where the timing chain comes up it would leak out of the breather.

    Oil runs up threw one of the cylinder studs.When you had it apart did you notice a o-ring on one of the studs.When your head nut came off you probably blew the gasket and when you start it will suck in oil.You mite get lucky and just have to change the headgasket.

    Ok, well im about to go out and pull it all appart again for the 2nd time. Its an 84 200s bored out with a 200x wiseco.
    The stud isnt stripped, i can tighten all the bolts down to 22lbs with no problem but its when i start driving again the ONE head nut on the left hand side at the rear comes off and thats when it starts to leak around the cylinder head. When i put a new nut on it, it quit leaking but after 10mins the nut and washer came off again !
    And yes it did throw blue smoke and oil out around the head gasket when that one nut came off, but when its all tightened down it still smokes a hell of alot threw the crank breather tube! Not threw the exhaust.
    I do have a spare cylinder head gasket, i'll pull the head and replace the gasket and the rubber o-ring, its really the first major problems the old trike has givin me .

    Try putting lock tight on the threads or if you can double nut it. Add a couple extra foot pounds of torqe.
