1981 honda atc 200

was running great for bout a month after i bought it then one day it started puttering i put it away next day went to start nothing.So i checked the carb that looks good has spark ,good compression.so i dont really know what else it would be? and pointers

check your grounds, and then do an ohm test on the stator, also make sure you check out the downloadable manual here, http://www.oscarmayer.net/atc/manuals/ .
have you cleaned the carb yet or cleaned out the fuel lines, petcock as well, after that check for an air leak around the intake boot. is your plug getting wet when you try and start it? if not then my guess is fuel delivery issue.

Sometimes spark happens outside the engine but fails under compression.

How long has it been sitting?
any chance for water in the gas?
Will it fire with a spritz of start fluid?
