    OneWay Clutch Bearing

A buddy of mine just sent me a OneWay Clutch Bearing he said he thinks is good. How can I tell if it is before I rip my 250sx apart & install it? I get that it's supposed to only turn one way however with my hands I can't move it either way.

    Thoughts?

It will freely turn one way and if you detect ANY movement the opposite way, and I mean ANY movement at all, if you think you could feel/sense it move the opposite way, it ain't no good.
Now with it not turn in either direction I know what I would call it but perhaps a soaking in tranny oil or simply squirting WD40 (hosing it down in a zip lock baggie would be better wording) may free it up to turn only in one direction.

It won't turn either way. Again, I'm not saying that it's good, neither is my friend, but I would, think like most bearings that it should turn in one direction by hand.

    Am I wrong?

Yes, hence the "one way bearing".

It was most likely damaged upon removal anyhow; If you don't want any issues, grab a new one......
