I want to remove the chain guard off my 81 185s so I can paint the frame, how do I go it? Or how do I remove the rear sprocket? There's those four bolts but they just spin. What do I do??

there should be 5 bolts that you have to remove. there is a cover with three bolts on the axle, they needs to come off and there are 2 on the case itself in the middle. you probably need to hold the other side of the bolts so that they don't spin. at least, that is what its like on my '83 185s

I can seem to get to the other side of the bolts, they're somewhere behind the sprocket, I can't get the two bolt behind the sprocket mounting the case to the frame

Before you do anything, either purchase a honda shop manual for your year 185s or download a shop manual off the internet and do so reading. If you would have done either of these, you would not be asking these questions. Not saying the questions are bad, but you need the proper knowledge that a shop manual provides. Also you need a nice set of basic tools, but proper torques wrenches are a must.

And I've got a buncha tools for school (I'm training to be as they call it an "automotive technician" aka mechanic) so I've got everything to do it and In order to remove the axle I'd have to remove the guard.
