    Honda 200x?

I am considering a 200x and i am wondering if it would be a good choice based on my area. I have quite a bit of mud, hills, rough trails. Can anyone give me information on the 200x, how it is to ride? Common problems? Is it held back on power? thanks.

A 200x is a good all around machine, lots of power and full suspension also it is smaller then say a 350x so you can man handle it better in them tough spots

Thanks again jjmf that's the answer i was hoping for. I have heard they dont have enough power to keep up with anything "new". Is that a myth or truth?

I had one with high compression piston and a super trapp pipe and I loved it. It's know where near a fast as my 250R, but it was one of the best bikes I have owned.

Well, kind of. They are obviously not putting 200 engines in new sport quads. But, they are faster than you think though. I have 2 of them and they are plenty powerful for the type of riding I do.

For heavy mud trail riding you may wish something with enclosed drive and brakes.

After rebuilding my 350x I went out with my brother and a couple guys from the 3ww and rode on some pretty muddy trails.

In one ride I trashed the chain and rear brakes..mud isn't a good lubricant and is very abrasive. Also the manual clutch make it difficult to get off the machine and push the machine out of a mud hole while using the machine to power out, at least the auto-clutch machines can help you pull them out.

Not to say the 200x won't be fun, but maybe consider the 250SX...it's my number one ride and I do alot of mud riding!!

common problems are: Bad kickstarter gears, bent rear axle(they are very weak), bent front forks(also weak), and look around the case were the chain runs. some have had a broken chain in there life and are cracked pretty good on the case.

I have 2 84s. They are perfect for the kind of riding you described.

There are a crazy amount of parts for the 83-85 200x but hardly any for the 86 200x, also someone said with the manual clutch you can't push it out of the mud but he must have forgot about neutral

well if he is gonna do lots of mudding, then the 200e woudl be my choice. still a chain drive, hi/low gearing and same parts for the 200x will for the 200e.
