Question what temp does the fan kick on for a 06 honda trx 450r?

hi i jus picked up an 06 honda trx 450r 2 days ago and went for a 2 hr ride yesterday stopping here and there to bullshit and climb hills and my fan didnt kick on at all. so 2 things either thats good or its not working. iv owned all kinds of toys but this is my first 450r. all the fluids were just changed in it a week ago in a shop by me and valves were checked and had a new starter put in it. i put a temp sticker on it. but still what temp does the fan kick on? or how can i tell if it is even working? any info would be great.
    thanks in advance

Not sure of the temp,,but pretty damn hot!!! If you're in say 3rd or higher,,it won't kick on if your rads clean. Has to be tight technical stuff to use it. My bet is,it's working fine, but you can jump it to make sure!

actually as i wrote my last post a few mins ago my quad was outside just running and i wanted too see if the fan would kick on and when i was done writing that i went back out and checked and the fan was on.. lol. it was idleing for a bit before it came on.. and my temp sticker said 180. but thats outside temp not internal. so atleast now i know it works and makes me feel alittle better.

I am almost 100% positive the high temp light kicks on at 220 degrees F on the TRX450R. Yes, they run hot! Also, when you first start the machine, the temp light should come on and stay on for about 5 seconds, then go out. This is to show if it is working properly or not. If it does not come on at start up, there is something wrong. I had a trail tech computer on mine that would read 190 - 210 on regular riding.

Yeah, you really gotta run the piss out of them to get the fan to turn on. My 450s fan will only kick on during 1st and 2nd gear extreme hill climbing abuse in the dunes on a hot day.

One other thing I noticed, my cousin's 450r fan is MUCH more quiet than the fan on my wife's z400... Can easily hear it kick on on the Z, but the Honda not so much.

IDK.. My wifes quad will kick the fan on when riding slowly on a warm day. Doesn't take too long either.. If you shut it down with the kill switch and leave the key on the fan will often come on for a minute or so.

Sounds about right. I bet if you putt around in 1st gear for 10 minutes the fan comes on. When we go riding on gravel roads where the cruising speeds are up over 25mph or so, I don't think her fan ever kicks on. But it doesn't take much slow 1st and 2nd gear travel and on it comes.
