Need Stator for a TRX 250X, will the ATC 200x one interchange?

My cousin has a 1987 TRX 250X quad with a stator going bad. I can find stators for the 200x three wheelers from 86 for cheap, but I'm not sure if they are the same or not?? I would love to spend $20 instead of $70 . If anyone has a good spare, I would be interested in it.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the tip, for what ever reason I couldn't find a site to reference like them >,<

Just to confirm, stator from a ACT 200x does not work in a 250x quad (thought it was a 200x)

I might have a stator for the 250x quad. Will be at the shop tomorrow and will check on it if you want.

I'm just guessing here Howdy,,with all the wrong call names being thrown around!! But,I think he more than likely has a TRX 200SX 86-88. PS2,,you need to figure out exactly what model machine you have an help will come your way!

One from a 300ex may work - it is basically the same motor but with electric start - that may change the stator, but that would probably be a closer match than a 200x.

I have a 1987 TRX 250X,$80 shipped. Mines good, you need to KNOW what is wrong before "guessing/buying" electrical parts!

The motor / stator I have is a 1986 Fourtrax 250. I also have a 300ex motor / stator but know nothing about it.

    According to cheapcycleparts.com it has to be a 250x from years 87, 88, 91, or 92.

I'm on a midnight shift right now, so havn't been able to go to my cousin's place to test his stator with my multimeter. I was hoping to source one for about $50 shipped (he is 15 and has no money as it is).

My experience with 250x's losing spark is generally found in bad connections at the large connector pack above the shifter, bad CDI or Coil. I dont think in all the ones I have owned I have ever seen a bad stator. Check the connector pack first before buying anything. Take apart and clean and inspect all the terminals.
Here is where my long useless list of stuff nobody cares about should go...
