If you want more clearance for your trailer jack just put one of the folding jacks on the frame rails. It worked for me, otherwise it would have been in the way of the truck camper rear door.

I'm going to be hauling a camper with a 18' trailer behind it. Is that legal in Indiana?

I'm confused. Do you mean you're driving an RV that has an 18' trailer behind it or are you towing a camper behind a truck and then you have the 18' trailer tied in to the back of the camper? Don't laugh. I saw guys on the highway last year towing two trailers at the same time. I know for a fact doubles are not legal in Massachusetts.

If it's a camper with an 18' trailer I see no reason why that wouldn't be legal.

With double trailers it is a state by state thing, and I'm pretty sure all will require the lead hitch to carry the whole load. It's fairly common around here to see a truck hauling a fifth wheel camper which is towing a small boat or trailer. Not sure what the license requirements are though.............

My camper + trailer + office

All rolled into one. No trailer this year as I have in years past.
I did need to pull a trailer last year because of delivering trikes to folks and that thing was SO in my way the whole time I camped at TF2011.
All I need to do is empty out the scuba gear and load riding + sleeping gear.

The big thing these days is having a DOT number.I know here in Pa.it is big thing. Here I think it is a combination of 10,000.You also have to watch what endorsements you have.Different laws for goosenecks also.Think a lot of other states are cracking down on this stuff.Better be safe than sorry and check it out, fines are hefty.I by no means am a expert on this subject,so don't take my word for it.Just have heard of a lot of fines people have gotten lately.

    Thank you Jay.

I'm losing hair over the current truck/trailer/camper buildup that's going on. The clock is ticking now and I currently have a set of airbags installed in the rear of the truck that will not work correctly. (Not my fault)

I took a note from John Swinehart a good many of years ago, with the exception of he has way more room. I picked this gem up for a song and dance. It has a 318 so it pulls better than my 6 cylinder truck, and no tent sleeping ever - has AC, a bed built in and even a TV - which I rarely use.

I have since upgraded to some cool chrome wheels - and will have a new sound system for TF this year - hopefully a nice exhaust soon to follow.

I googled it and they said it was legal in KY and Indiana but it has to be less than 65 feet including all 3 vehicles.

Mine will look about the same, except my truck is a red 06 single cab, and my trailer is a tandem axle.
