Well from what i have heard you will need a bearing kit and will have to change out the bearing races. The smaller tire improves handling as well as the disc brake being way better than the drum.

The only thing you need are steering stops, unless you've got a Clarke tank, then you really don't need 'em
    Here's a pic for ya-The 3rd gen 250R front fender adds a nice touch too, I think.

If you have the whole front end (with the master and such) All you need is a 200X steering stop (or fab one up) that gets welded on the front, where as the old stop was in the rear. Which you have to grind off.

I used the stock balls (18 each I believe) and races.

You will love having a front disc brake......

I can't speak for the 200x front end fit on the 250sx, but I know lots of other have done this and it works well..

But in response to the skinny front tire vs fat??

Huge improvement in handling and turning..I installed a 10" rim and wheel from a TRX250 onto my SX and kept the stock front end. Anyway combined with an aggressive tire(Bear Claw) it is incredibly better to steer, especially when trying to navigate a heavily rutted ATV.

I believe mine runs a 250R front fender (85/86) and it's bolt on, no drilling.

Toss up another post to be sure; Mine is either 250R or a 350X front fender.....

I put an old race in the bottom while I weld so it doesn't distort; I just hit it on my 10" fat sander and spin the race to lose a thousandth or so.....

Yep.... just did the conversion. LOVE IT!!!!!!

My tank isnt perfect so I havent even done anything about the lack of the steering stop. So far after first ride I didnt need it, and would have to be pretty careless to bang tank. Wont probably do anything until I have tank painted, and cleaned up.
Also have the 250r fender. Looks sweet and mounts right up, and looks way better then the 85 200x fender.

the fender wont fit. You need the entire 200x front end. brakes caliper master cylinder etc etc. looks good and handles good when done.
