Want to extend the swingarm on my 250

I am wanting to extend the swingarm on my 81 250R but was wondering what all needed to be done to complete that, like what if anything would need to be done to the rear shock and what not.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

I have extended many 86 250 R swing arms but never an 81. Extending the swing arm puts added leverage on the rear shock which makes it feel softer. I usually just tighten the spring a little to compensate. You can replace the spring with a stiffer spring if you want or need. How much are you going to extend it? Are you doing it yourself? Post a picture of it and I can help you.

or....you can just buy this extended westcoast from one of our members. Home-made extensions never look that good IMO.
