I have decided that the R is the best all around, and the Tecate 86 or 87 is the fastest but less fun to ride.
I say 85-86 250R!

The most dependable best all round trike is without a doubt the forever infamous 85/86 Honda 250R.

I have all 3. Have to say best all around is 250r.
Trikes: Cagiva 200, 85? Tiger 250,(2)84 200x's , (3)86 200x's, 87 200x, (5)85 350x's, (2)86 350x's, (2)85 250r's, 86 Tecate, (3) 85 250sx's Restoring: 83 200x, 86 250sx. Too many utility trikes to list.

my 250r's were fun and nice to ride but the 86 tecate is just as nice to ride. all my machines are heavily modded so the comparisons are null and void 8) the tecate i have now is the fastest that i have had but it is far from stock

I'd love to ride the other two, then my opinion would be based on experience, but since I'm partial to Honda and my 250R, I'll say 85/86 250R's are the best.

Having owned all three versions of the ATC250R (an '82, '83, '85), and loving all of them but with the '82 beeing my absolute favorite ATV of all time ...... my vote for the best overall high performance trike of all time still goes to the '86 Tri-Z.
