    1984 200m glowing red header

Well ive got a new project pretty well complete, ive got an 84 200m engine stock bore AND IT DONT BURN OIL in a 87' quadsport frame.
It runs so well, spark plug is tan but after only minutes of riding the whole header turns glowing red ( header is a crf230f).
Unsure what would do this, is it out of time on the pulse rotor or on the cam itself?? Exhaust is free flowing, no obstructions, clean air filter...

Sounds like the cam chain/sprocket is one tooth off. I wouldn't run it any more till you get it fixed. I did the same thing on my first 200x engine years ago. It cranked right up and I took a little spin around the yard at dusk. The head pipe was glowing cherry red! Just had the cam off by one tooth.
