    Aftermarket Tri-z clutch basket?

I was looking at my clutch basket today, and I noticed that it had grooves in the fingers (I guess that is what you would call them) where the metal tabs on the clutch plates ride. Does this cause your clutch to drag, because right when I bought and rode it for the little time that I did before I stripped it down, if you had the clutch in the hole way the trikes would kind lurch/jerk forward a little bit. Could these grooves have been causing that? Is there anywhere to buy an aftermarket basket for it, like maybe a banshee or yz 250 basket I thought might work.

Yes, it will cause all of the symptoms you described, and make it very difficult to shift into neutral when your not rolling, and greatly shorten the life of clutch disks. That drag you feel is the clutches still rubbing.

You can file the grooves flush once or twice before replacing the basket. As far as an aftermarket basket, dont waste your money. The Z is very kind to clutches. I still have the original basket on mine, still in great shape, and it gets a workout. My 250R is a different story, but thats not relevant.
