I just bought a cheapie for now. I try not to do alot of stupid stuff where it will be put to the test, but you never know. Get one with a removable liner. It makes the helmet alot nicer if it is clean on the inside instead of all soaked with sweat. Make sure it is D.O.T. approved.

You might be strong as an ox, but without a cart you are just a big dumb animal.
I dont have a pic right now but I have a shift and like it alot and my wife and kid have thor. Go to a local shop and try some on. A large in one brand may fit great and be to tight in another brand. It has to fit right to work right.
A helmet is something you definatly have to go and try on. Find the one that fits the best in your price range. A removable liner is a big plus so is being lite weight. If you already have goggles make sure they fit with you new helmet.
I second Matty's comment. You need to try different brands on your melon. I ended up using strictly answer racing helmets because they fit me perfectly, give me the best peripheral views and my goggles fit snug.
This is the one I've been contemplating on since seeing it at a local dealer...
The color combo kind of grabs me.
I like my HJC helmet. VERY affordable when I bough it from Rocky Mountain ATV a couple years back.. Think I paid like $80 for it. Very comfortable, lighweight and pleasing to the eye. Also, interior comes out quick and easy for washing..
Here's the only pic I have![]()

No pics of my helmet but , it too is an HJC motocross style in flat-black .
As for goggles , I wear these now instead of goggles . I found them @ my motorcycle dealer for 15 bucks . They have foam around the lens to keep out wind / dust and other crud & they work great. I'd encourage anyone to try them .
