Yep, same thing happened to me when I first got my cleaning tank and poured 5 gallons of "purple power" in it. Set my 200x head in overnight and it turned out like that. Drain the super clean out and put some mineral spirits or diesel fuel in your tank. Super clean, purple power...its all (bio-friendly) junk IMO. You didn't ruin it. Just have it bead blasted or you can clean it all off with a wire wheel.

    Side question,

Ever tried using pure white vinegar to clean parts?

I did one time on a 1bbl carb for 2 week soak (Figured how could it hurt it, we consume vinegar all the time). Son was I wrong. It destoryed the carb. Eat all the finish off it and started piting the metal. Turned it into complete junk. In hind site 2 or 3 days probably would have been fine. Talk about safe disposal I was able to dump it in the yard with no worries. The smell was a little strong in the garage during the the soak but after a day or so the smell of the vinegar was gone. It actually started bubbling and chunks of stuff was coming off after just a few minutes. Will post pics if anyone is interested..lol

Images of the Carb. The one with the container all white is 1 day of soak.
