Any info on 200x? I might be getting one

I might be trading my 01 blaster,which needs piston/rings and probably a bore, for a 1985 200x in the area. It comes with 2 extra parts bike, 1 is the whole rolling chassis with the engine in a crate. Havent seen any pics though, guy only said motor was rebuilt. Now I have a couple of questions about a 200x. First off, are they a peppy bike, kinda like my blaster but four stroke, the reason I am asking is because my blaster had a good all around acceleration/top speed setup which I liked a lot, and I was wondering because I dont want to trade my blaster for a less powerful bike, and also with the 200x being a 5 speed will I have as much fun as I did with the blaster? What is the top speed of a 5 speed 200x? I have ridden a plain hond 200 before, and didnt like that one bit, is the 200x's top speed the same as the honda 200? Are the 5 speeds any less fun than the 6 speeds? If the 200x has good cosmetics, the brakes work, and I see proof that the engine was rebuilt, and the extra parts are half descent should I go for it. I am mostly looking into another bike for my father to ride (I have a tri-z in the process of being restored/rideable) I dont think I'll let my father ride the tri-z much, when I got my blaster he said that it had way too much power, imagine him on somethin with 50 more cc's and one less wheel, yikes! So what do you think, would it be an even trade if the bike was in good condition? Mostly looking for a woods/fireroads machine. Any info from you 200x gurus would be great, Thanx

How is it compareable to a 1986 250sx, I used to own one.

all and all....the 200x holds its own...Its great in the trails ( i had 2 1984 200x's) and for a 200cc 4 stroke it gets up to about 55-60...but with a sprocket change, ive noticed that changes the speed about 3-4 mph..one of my 200x's had a dg pipe and header, .050 over wiseco piston, and heavy duty valve springs, with 13/40 gearing (12/40 is stock) and it would hit around 65 (dad clocked me on his harley!). the 200x's are a great machine....and compared to any liquid cooled...ALOT EASIER TO WORK ON!!! i can get the motor completely off the frame in about a half hour..they are somewhat peppy, depending on what your peppy is....i seen a 01 blaster out at the local lagoons, and it didnt suprise me at all....whereever it went, i went, i was right on his trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro the whole way....im talking half a bikelength away (had the hit the brakes a couple times..lol) but finally there was a clearing where that would hold 4 quads side by side and i downshifted from 3rd to 2nd and got to about the middle of him and shifted back into 3rd and before you know, he was about 50 yards behind me....he would catch up a little bit around corners, but not much...if i would have had some balder tires i coulda slid around it....but Yeah...Id get the 200x....they are nice machines.

If I were to put the 26mm xr carb on, a super trapp exhaust, would I be able to flat out smoke a stock blaster.

Honestly....the only thing a pipe will do is help you get to your top speed faster....i dont know if you will smoke a blaster because ive never actually raced one...but it might be close...as for the carb....i believe you can do that, but you will need the manifold to the 26mm carb also.

I've got an 86 200x and love it. In trails, I hang with 350xs all day (except in straight aways) but it's so easy to toss around that they can't lose me. They are a little weak in the sand but when you get them on the trails, you'll see what they were made for. I'll smoke a blaster in the woods--I don't care who's riding it!

The 200X's rock!! A great woods bike. My dad is 58 years old and he took my 200x for a weekend of riding, and he loved it! he's a pretty crazy old man though.

Well, the guy backed out on the 350x trade, so I am going for the 200x trade right now. There is one complete bike, one rolling chassis with engine in box, minus carb and something else, and a frame with triple clamps and front forks. Also another thing, the 200x has a kerker pipe, is that a good pipe?

I have the Kerker silencer on my X , it seems to work fine. Kinda loud though!!
