UPS has a weight and size limit on packages. They also won't ship a machine with gas in the tank. Be sure to drain it completely.

To ship a 70 I would do it this way: Remove the foot pegs, rear tires and axle, the rear fenders, and the front tire and fender. I then unbolt the handlebars from the forks so they can be turned. Then I make or find a box that the remaining chassis will just fit in. Do not seal the box yet.

Then you need to find a box that the remainer will fit in. It will need to hold 3 tires, fenders, foot pegs, & rear axle. You will need to package this box cunstructively to keep the size down as much as possible. You also need to use extra care to keep from causing damage in transit. But it can be done.

For packing material I use a lot of shredded newspaper. It gives a good cushion. I have the kids shread newspaper with a paper shreader.
    I hope this helps.

I have recieved one of these cunstructively packaged boxes. All I have to say is I bet Howdy could ship a house in 2 boxes and still have room to throw in a trike somewhere.

Howdy sent me a trizinger in 2 boxes. I can't rember exact shipping cost but it was $60-70 to ship it. I think it was shipped a little over 1000 miles.

Trust me it was packaged very tightly and constructivily

The actual shipping cost was $70 and some change. As Josh said: The package was tightly packaged. It was done with care and a lot of thought. A mouse would have been cramped. hehe

Depending on the distance $135 does sound high. But if you look at it another way: forwardair would cost a lot more.

It also depends on how its broken down. Make sure none of your packages exceed 70 lbs. Each additional pound over 70 is $5 per pound, and its cheaper to go to another pcackage at that point.

Also packages going and coming from Washington and Oregon are most expensive in the cont. US.
