Recommend you open up the cases to see what sort of shrapnel is in there and brush up on the grammar before posting what you find if you are still looking for help.

It might be the bottom-end, He told me he pulled it with a truck 20mph and put it in 1st gear.

I think He told me, but I couldn't understand him. he cleaned the carb, but the only ways to start it is to compression start it and when he stops it dies, crank seals?

ok when 3 wheeler is in gear it does not move forward but moves backwards freely is this right. it is shaft driven and yes cleaned the carb do u think the shaft is locked up or is this normal. when i pulled it be hide the truck i got it to start but the tires were locking up. is there any reason y it would do this. im trying to get answer sorry about the grammar im really getting up set with this project. sorry i was not watching what i was typing.but when u answer with half baked answer and u do not understand what one is asking that does not help so u do not understand what some one is asking maybe u should keep your answers to your self thank for the help

Having read your posts (a number of times) I am convinced that the best thing for you, your "tri" and the well-being of the three wheeler world in general is that you part it out and get a quad, preferably one that is running. Best regards.

first off a shaft driven yamaha has a ton of torque in first gear and it will lock the tires up when trying to bump start it you should always try to bump start in third or fourth gear. Also yes it will not move forward in first, but freely in reverse, as the clutch is centrifugal and only engages when spinning the right way. Now on to why it won't run, I will give you a check list of things to do, and after that then check back with us.

change oil and oil filter, and check for metal shavings
    clean carb thoroughly
    clean fuel tank and petcock
do a compression, and leak down test
check spark, and look for bad connections
after all that and everything is good, but it still won't stay running, I want you to take the carb back off and clean it again, this time be even more thorough, if you need I have a link to a repair manual that can show you all the parts to the carb including some jets and o-rings that are really tucked away and can give you a major migraine.
rectum nothin damn near killed them
