    wont start

    hey, i have a 82-84? yamaha tri-moto 175, it wont start, ive cleaned out the carb a couple times, compressions good, new plug, has a spark. i dont know why it wont run. when i crank it over everything sounds good. any help would be appreciated, thanks, steve

    These small engines have to fire on basicly one comperssion stroke to start normally. When I have one that is uncooperative, usually after sitting for a while or being worked on, I usually resort to drag starting it. Get someone to pull you with something (another trike, quad, car, even lawn tractor). Put the trike in 3rd or 4th gear and just let it turn over. be carefull that when it starts you do not run over the rope that you are towing with.
