87 Honda 200x

Hello and have some patience with this newb please! I have been riding quads and the like for 25 years and have just recently began a serious search for a trike, I have found an 87 200x but before I make a 2 hour drive I would like to know if their is a sure fire way to tell its an 87. The bike has "200x" on the rear white plastic and the Honda "wing" logo on the white tank and it has a blue seat. It is a 6 speed but other than that i did not know if Honda had more than one decal/color configuration for this model year. I have to assume its original plastics and seat because of the wear, although its not in that bad of shape. Thanks!

Welcome to the trike world lol. Yes, 87 Is the only one that is white,86-87 6speed and the frame it square not round. I also can give you the vin# look up so you know. I love all my trikes.

Sounds like an 86 to me.
86 - white front & rear fender, red gas tank scoops, Honda wing on tank, large 200x on rear fenders, ATC on sides of seat, Honda on the back I think
87 - white front & rear fender & gas tank scoops, Honda 200x across sides of tank & scoop, large ATC on rear fenders, just Honda on back of seat, key switch & dash in the center of the handle bars

I was thinking 86 also. Any pics I saw of and 87 always had the large 200x decal going diagonal. At any rate it is a square tube frame with all serial #'s so I'm told. $800 will buy it, think its a fair price for a bike that runs and is in good shape besides seat cover an a small chunk of plastic from rear fender corner missing?

If it was only that and all decals where good,its nice and clean,ran good and no big dents in the tank I would.

Like tripower said, if that's all that is bad it would be a go for me too. It may be a little high though, hard to tell without pics. My experience has been for every problem you know about there is at least one you don't know about but will find out, so pay accordingly.
