    3 wheeler tire size

My 83' Yamaha 200k currently has 22x12x8 tires on it. The front tire is in excellent condition. The rears are shot. What size do you guys recommend me getting for it? The manual calls for 22x11x8, but I think i'd rather get something a little bigger that still fits on 8" rims. I'm just not sure how big you can go.

    Thanks

You sure you really want to.?? My experience with the trikes without rear suspension is that the steering and ride get kinda weird when you mix the tires!!

keep them all the same is my advice!

Yea I think 22's are big for me. What kind of riding are you doing, or working possibly? For serious mud I really wouldn't go bigger than 22's but maybe 24's would be okay for a serious mudder. The worst you can do is try but now that I think of it, I recall a post someone made a while back asking something similar. I think they wanted 24's but many people stated it would just weigh the machine down to much and put to much of a load on the trike's rear end. That's shaft driven right? My 250x has 22's and I was thinking about going smaller possibly for more torque (if it works like that). I do a lot of towing with this beast

It's a chain drive, and I'll be using it mostly for yard work, plus a little trail riding. Mostly in woods though.

So is it ok if the front is 22x12x8 and the rears are 22x11x8? I have a hard time finding 12's on the web and I'd rather buy 2 tires instead of 3.

I started a thread about tire size and the conclusion was that the larger tire size would put to much stress on my SX driveline. Is there enough room for a 12 on the front? The last thing you want is it to rub.I run my 11 on the front at a higher psi just to avoid this.

Yeah there's enough room on the front. Maybe I'll check out the local place and get 3 11's so they all match to spec.

    Thanks guys!
