new to the site, questions about atc 200x

hello everybody, i have a 1987, yes 1987 honda 200x. ive had it for about 3 years, and love it, i think it is by far way better than the 1985 and older models. but this is my problem, i cant find parts for it. the first summer i had it, i bent the axle, couldnt find one, so i used a hydrualic press at work and straitened it as best i could, its wobbly, but rideable. now the swingarm bearings, and axle bearings are getting a bit wore out, and im not finding a very good selection of those either. the trike is still in good shape and i dont want to run it into the ground because i know it is somewhat rare. so i dont know whether i should sell it and look for something more common, i would keep it if i could find parts. what should i do???

the 1986 and 1987 models have no parts interchangeable with the 1985s and prior, is my understanding which is what makes it difficult. and even if i can get axle bearings, why put new bearings on a bent axle? i just dont know what to do ive been watching ebay for a used axle for 2 years now and havnt seen one coe through yet

The reason your bearings are going is likely due to the fact that you are riding on a bent axle, which you probably know. Just have to keep your eyes peeled for an axle. Try searchtempest. It searches all of craigslist at once. This is why I stick to first gen 200x's. Easier to mod and find parts for

also, after you have 10 posts on the site you can try to put a wanted ad within the classifieds section of the site stating that you want a 86-87 200x axle.

Welcome to the site. Hate to bust your chops right out the gate, but if you haven't seen a 2nd gen 200x axle in 2 years on ebay, then you haven't been watching very close. They are not there all the time and usually go for decent $, but they pop up quite often. From what I've read here, the 83-84 250r axle will work and acts as an extended axle. The 1st gen 200x axle can also work. Don't remember what mods if any are needed for either to work, but both have been done. The search feature here kinda sucks and was broken recently, but give that a try, you may find the info you're looking for.

I don't have a whole lot to contribute as far as what axles from other models will work, but for Pete's sake don't sell that '87!

Keep an eye on the 3WW shop. There is a shop seller/member that is making nylon race tested swingarm bushings to use instead of the OEM needle bearing setup. They are available for the 250r's and quite a few other models thus far and if I remember correct, they have a guarantee that if you wear a set out they will replace them free... I'll go check on that right now and post back.

    Welcome to 3WW!

    Here you go.. http://shop.3wheelerworld.com/produc...?productid=102

Ad says they fit all years 200x and in fact a full replacement guarantee if you can wear a set out. I plan to give these a try when I need swingarm bearings again...
