Chance to buy one of two 350x and can't decide which..input needed.

So I found a couple of 350x close to me that need buying!! Since riding with Jason and Aaron last weekend I am painfully aware I really do need a 350x, the 200x though really cool just isn't enough. I want the power!!

Sooo, I have two in my sights and need some opinion..

1st. 1985 350x..mostly original, condition is good, no major mechanical issues, average running hours I would guess. The really clincher is the aftermarket quad conversion kit that comes with it...this seems a rare and probably value adding item. All the parts are there for this to either be a 3 or 4 wheeler. Pretty cool right?

2nd. 1986 350x..meticulously maintained and pretty low hours. Older owner, selling because his nephew is eyeballing it as he gets old enough to ride a larger machine and doesn't want it around for the kid to hurt himself on. Also the owner doesn't use it much since his hunting use is better served with a quad he just got. The downside to this machine is the hours it will take to strip the crappy camo paint job be put on the machine some years ago..

Both are within $50 of eachother..

I'm going tomorrow morning to get one or the other, help me I'm struggling with this one.

    Thought???

go with the 86. The older gent probably has all the paper work for it and chances are if he was the rider, it wasnt abused. The camo on there will be a pain to get off but think - if they are oem fenders, the camo will have been acting as a protectant. The 4 wheeler conversion kit wouldnt interest me that much but then again to each his own. The 86's are more rare...just sayin.

    Good luck and post pix!

    One vote for the 1986.

I feel yah, my gut says go that way too, but then I don't know the value of the quad conversion kit and the cool factor has me stuck a bit. I may be able to sell it after I get the 85 to cover some of the cost of the 85...if it wasn't for that I'd be all over the 86. Camo paint job or not!

The 4 wheel conversion is not that rare or desireable at least in my opinion, I do not know if you are talking about the one on cl here in MI but if you are you might be careful it has been for sale for quite a while off and on, since at least early fall.

86 All the way,,or both...lol.. Seriously ,,86 ATC 350X hands down bar none. Easiest trike in the world to sell. 85's dime a dozen. 86's are THE stuff! You wouldn't USE the quad conversion, and it isn't worth much at all to sell that I'm aware of. I would also be oN THE WAY NOW! Not tomorrow.
Please help those who cannot help themselves.

ALWAYS buying Museum quality machines,3 and 4 wheels. And any and ALL ,NOS parts,EVERY brand.

I am turning my PM's Off,my Email is billsracing@hotmail.com,put 3WW in the subject. Thanx!

The camo part sucks, but I would still go 86.

Like someone already mentioned the kits are not that desirable and further more who would want to turn a trike into a quad?! Us people that own trikes want to keep em that way. Please keep us posted!

Count my vote for the '86 as well. The whole deal sounds better overall, camo paint or not. Especially since you seem to have some pretty good ownership history on the '86.
    Trikes:
    '85 ATC 350R
    '85 ATC 250R
    '86 ATC 350X
    '85 ATC 350X
    '84 ATC 200ES Big Red
    '84 ATC 125M
    '85 ATC 110
    '85 ATC 70/110

If you have bought from me or sold to me, please leave me feedback here>>> http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthr...+RIDE-RED+250r
