I know the trx has a oil temp sensor so there's going to be some extra wires there. I'd wait for someone else to chime in with real experience but i bet they're pretty close.

Wire harness no- regulator & CDI is the same as '86 ATC but in a different location on harness (behind headlight). On/Off switch plug I believe is different too...No oil temp sensor on a TRX 250R!
Edit: this is a 2 stroke 250R we are talkin about -right?? or no??-or SX???

I thought we were talking about a 70! If so the harnesses are totally different. ATC is points, TRX is CDI. It would be very helpful if actual models were listed!

I have a atc 250r wiring harness on my 86 trx250r. I think I did have to do some cutting and splicing but cant remember (I am not running OEM on/off switch). I would say its not a 100% coversion.
