Same Clarke POS tank for Tecate or not ?

I know a lot of people had problems with the clarke tecate tanks but heard a rumor they were making a new Mold to fix the problems? Does anyone know if this is the same crap they were making for the tecate or a new better version?

How long have they been making this tank? I wouldn't be afraid to try it if I needed one. Atctim had a problem because the distance from the front to rear mounting holes was not correct on an R tank. Since a Tecate doesn't have rear mounting holes you won't have that problem.

I think I remember people complaining the tecate mold made for thin spots on these tanks and they leaked from the factory . I know swineheart was calling them to see when the next gen was commimg out and finally gave up and had an aluminium tank built instead

There were actually a lot of issues with these tanks when Clarke first started making them. To add insult to injury, Clarke did nothing to fix the situation in most cases. They made a flawed product and would not stand by it. That's why Dan is concerned, and rightfully so.

Sounds familiar now that you say it, maybe I would be afraid to try it. lol. I was thinking of Atctim's problem. I've got a ATC70 Clarke tank on the way. I got a new one real cheap, I don't think they can really mess that up though, well hopefully.

Dcreel and I both have the "1st Gen" tecate tanks from Clarke.....neither of us feel safe to use them "as is"... At some point when I catually get ready to use it I will send it to Jeswinehart for coating. Dcreel's tank is worse off than mine.

Mike, not in any way shape or form trying to put one of your eyes out with one of my fingers but their past history of customer support,,, well they labeled themselves "as you suck~sorry about your position in life".
I suppose for those that are REALLY that desperate to have a brand new plastic tank gambling on that business practice, perhaps the gamble is worth it,,, perhaps. There is really NO you are happy guarantee @ no charge with this out fit.
They run me around for over a year + a half, screwed 2 or 3 of the past + previous members here who I have big respect for with the crap they should have not let go out the door,,,, sorry ~ they are NOT worthy of my respect nor my money.
I am IN for folks who can hand craft such things as fuel tanks, angry neighbor and/or HRE for example. These 2 people actually ride machines for what they build parts for. Takes them awhile to do their orders because they do NOT have the "screw you~ sorry about your lot in life attitude"
