It is official, the parents are MAKING me sell my 3 wheeler!!!

It s*cks so bad! i dont want to sell it, they dont even let me ride it now! i cant believe it, and to top it off since i had to borrow money from my dad to buy my quad, he is taking the money! i was asking 1000 bucks, he said he didnt care if he sold it for 500 or less! he is even thinking of trading it, plus a whole bunch of little engines (chainsaws, little briggs and stratton) and then his 3 wheeler (tri moto 175) for another quad that needs to be re built, it needs bearings and brakes, and engine tuning, its a polaris 400, i hate this!!!

i have been disscussing it with him and he says that it wont go through any of the stuff i go through on my quad, and i wont be able to keep up to them, hell my trike is faster then my quad! it handles better, and i can probaly get through the muck and water better if it had 2 new rear tires, everything is perfect on it! i have been trying to find a way to make it more balanced, all i can see is wheel spacers, and 3 new tires, like 18 inch rear ones, and front one, so it sits lower and the back end is wider, the thing is a beast, what should i do?

I think the solution is plain to see. Sell the quad! You can pick quads up ten a penny. If you sell the trike you'll be kicking yourself for the rest of your life! If that fails, hide the trike round at a mates house and tell your dad its been stolen. Obviously you'll heve to cry alot and look depressed, but if carried out effectively, your dad may even forget about the money you owe out of sympathy!!

I'd tell her how much pressure this is at school to take exctasy and "now kids are really into heroin mom" and further explain that the only kids who stay straight are the ones that have a hobby they love and feel encouraged to stay at it.


Truth be told at 16 I got chased for quite a few miles on my RM100 by at least 6 cruisers - 2 of which crashed into one another and I finally crashed and got arrested and broke my thumb. Mom said "you will never ride a dirtbike again, your selling it" 3 weeks later I convinced her I couldn't SELL a dirty bike?? So I washed it and then told her you can't let the water ruin the engine mom so I had to ride it off to dry it. A month later I had a 1982 RM250!!!! FU mom!!! LOL!!!

Using the (il)logic of 3 wheels are "tippy", and 4 are stable, then it must be fact that a 2 wheeled motorcycle should be just plain suicidal and they shouln't be allowed near anyone! Instead of threatening to resort to a life a crime, make a deal with her. Earn and save some money for a quad. Tell her you will ride the quad only but would like to keep your trike because it's important to you, in the same way old classic cars are to some people. and to be perfectly honest, the less you ride the trike the more you preserve it's existence.

You earning the extra money replaces the selling of the trike. You not riding the trike is just like it's gone.

Or maybe this:

Get one of the 3+4 kits. convert it to a quad with the bolt on kit and you then can always go back to the trike.

I am going to use the advice that Jeb posted, i am getting a job (i was plannin on it already) and i will make money to pay back my dad for the quad, and i will convince them to let me build a shack to keep it in, it will be well preserved, it does mean alot to me, it was my biggest restoration i did on my own, and it does mean alot
