Define "good condition" but for an 86, no that's not bad.
I sold both my 84s this summer for $850 and $900 and I was very happy to get it. They were in great shape (new platics, bearings, chain/sprockets, brakes worke, good tires, seats etc) and I still lost $$ on the deals.
The 86 is different than the 84 and more desirable to many.
Thats a solid price. 86's rare as they are, hold better value the more stock they are. If you want snap, arm ripping power...go two-stroke 250. In stock form that motor is great as is. Don't waste a ton of cash going into a running motor, but what mods you looking for? CAM, high compression piston, BigBore...how about extended axles, carriers? 1986 was the end of the 3wheelers rookie, racing was over for us. The aftermarket Co.'s moved right into Quads leaving the 86' market slim for extras 20yrs later. You can still do every Mod to the motor today call a motor builder like TC, 4strokeTech...and alike. IMO its a competive machine for what it is and dossel enough for someone to gain experience on...before moving up to a 250pinger.
Thanks for all the info. I pretty familiar with three wheelers I'm just currious if I should pick it up for that price. I thought it would be cool to accuire the 4 stroke racer. I've actually already got a 250R I finished rebuilding a while back. Just for the future if I buy it, it seemed harder to find parts for the 86. I see Wiseco makes a piston for it. I'm sure I could find a cam if I wanted to.

Sounds good. I'm going to look at it tonight. Heres something to throw in the mix. Theres another guy local selling a 350x for the same price ($750) as low as he would go but it needs a new top end soon (its smoking some). Should I jump on the 200x or consider the 350 and rebuild the topend??

350x for me. But it all depends on body shape, if in same body shape id go 350x.

$200 minimum for new piston, bore, and gaskets for the 350X, plus you get the chance to learn how to rebuild a top end!
I've said it several times before and I'll say it again... 2nd gen 200x is one of the best all-round play trikes ever made, bar none. I would jump on that 200x for the price. In my experience, 350x's are a little more abundant than 2nd gen 200x's in good shape like that one seems to be in.

the 86 200x gets my vote also, yes parts are hard to find but its the square tube frame man!

Yeah I got it Friday night. $700. I love it. Everything works, great shape. Good addition to my 250R when I don't want arm ripping power.
HOWEVER; I took it out riding in this field by my house yesterday and twice it happend where I was in 6th and I squeezed the clutch in and was going to downshift and it was like I couldn't shift. Almost like the shifter wouldn't move. If shifted up fine and riding around it shifted good. But then twice that happend. I'm kind of worried now.
