idle drop?

I have a 84 200x that when it idles it will idle at one RPM for a while then just drop lower for no reason. any trouble shooting ideas? I am sure it is slider or pin related.

Usually this is due to someone adjusting the idle set screw without pressing the throttle to raise the slide first and allowing it to settle back down, the idle set screw puts a dimple into the slide and then it can't smoothly move up and down on the idle set screw anymore.

I usually take the slide and a dremel tool with a thick cutting wheel and grind it back smooth to remove the dents then adjust it properly, works every time after that.
