    Gen1 250R front end on a 250 ES BigRed

I did a 200x front end swap onto my 250sx not too long ago and LOVE IT! My dad has a 250es Big Red that the forks are seized up on and he really likes my 250sx. I was planning on doing the same swap for him but he really likes having a wide wheel/tire up front. Would I be able to use a front end off of a 1st generation 250r? It looks like the 1st gens had a fat tire up front, so I'm just hoping to swap triples and forks and use his wheel and brake.

Have you looked at the 2 machines side by side? A BR doesn't have triples.. Anything can be done,,but this could be steep.
Please help those who cannot help themselves.

ALWAYS buying Museum quality machines,3 and 4 wheels. And any and ALL ,NOS parts,EVERY brand.

i have the big red in my garage, but no access to look at a gen1 250r in person. i want to remove the whole front end from the big red and put the 250r triples and forks on it. from pictures, it looks like it might be possible... but looks can be deceiving!

i may have found the answer i was looking for in another thread:

"my buddy has a 1984 250r and was wondering if he could use the triple tree and forks off a 1985 200x on it.. i have a 1982 250r and it worked for me but i dont know if the 84 is the same"

if he used a 200x front end on his 1982 250r, then the 250r front end should fit the big red since a 200x will too.

any thing fits whatever you want it to. it may not always be a bolt on, it just depends how much work you wanna do.
