    honda 250 sx broke bolts in oil filter housing can it be fixed?

    can it be tapped?

    Oh gosh, I know what you're going through. Pissed me off so much. Broke the tip off of my Snap-on 3/8 drive Phillips screw driver head socket. I was using that and my Snap-on Impact (You hit the end of the impact so many times with a and it turns it, never failed on me until then.) What I did was drill out the screw heads with a drill bit one size bigger than the screws themselves, then tapped out the screws. Didn't damage the part at all. When I put it back together I installed 8mm hex sockets to make it much easier next time. Good luck

    Yes, you can remove the broken bolts and or fix the threads. It might be cheaper / quicker to get a different side cover though. I have at least 2-3 of them I would sell for $10 each plus shipping ( $8.50 via priority mail ).
