    Got me a Stang! PICS!

I might be getting me a Mustang soon! It's not my dream Stang, but hell at this point I'd drive around a little geo metro or a ford festiva if it ran better than me truck. I didn't get to see it, but from what my dad and bro told me, it's either an 85 or an 86. V6 engine auto tranny, convertible. Like I said not my dream stang but it has nice interior, nice body, new tires, and new front brakes. Supposed to run good too, which is more than I can say for my truck. The dude only wants 750 for it, Dad and I are gonna go look at it Friday morning and if I want it he's gonna buy it for me. Wish me luck dudes.

EDIT: Changed the subject. Nice care, no major problems. It needs a plug change. Engine is flawless, tranny works great, body is good, interior is nice, rag top has a few holes. A/C, P/S, Premium sound, cruise control, tilt wheel.....pretty much loaded, powerwindows/locks too. We paid 650. Kelly Blue Book says 1800 bucks.

*shudders at the thought of a 4 cylinder Stang*....my moms second Mustang was a 4 cylinder 5 speed, I think a 1983. She said she got 33 mpg in the city and 38 on the highway...and that's with a carburetor too.....

Heh, Better milage than my Little Suzuki Sj410, it is stock with a 970cc 4 cyl single carb motor, and that will get 26mpg at the very best! 22mpg if you drive it hard, I'm generally getting 22mpg!
Myabe that is why I just had to put a new head gasket on? heh

Cool, I picked up an 86 GT hatch for $1,500 with A tremic TKO, a detroit locker rear end, and a stock engine. They are easy to work on, and parts are cheep. Good luck, you can probably pick up a 302 cheep for it. That transmission will bolt right up, I'm not sure about the motor mounts or front suspension though, you just may luck out. Have fun with it.

Decent stang....Put some money into it and it should last you years...Ill race ya with my grand prix hehe

Went up to my old stomping grounds last night...My good old buddy Ryan sold his old k1500 stepside (it was just like mine...tons of good memories in it) to buy a new bodystyle 5.0 with nitrous, and a built 347 stroker. I remember the car when I lived up north..ryan always said he would own it. Needless to say, its a pretty irresponsible ride...even wihtout the tanks hehe. He got Dui in it recently and wont be at the helm for awile though..I remember the car a few years ago and it was supposedly one of the fastest street machines this side of new england dragway. I have serious doubts on that, since I'v never seen it in the 1/4 or anything...but it does scream. From my guestimates it is capable of running a low 12 to a mid 11...I have seen it just burn up quite a few cars quite capable of running high 12's stock.

    man

From what I can tell bro it looks like a screaming deal for $750 . If I were you I wouldnt hop it up . Get a pre smog car for your hotrod .Drive that car as is ... its a good dependable car . My wife had one for years . I live in Ca. We have the strictest smog laws , including smog 2 . If you want a hot rod its best that it isnt your daily driver . I personally have a hotrod myself . I had to buy one that was a pre-smog year so I didnt have to limit my possibilities . I own a 1970 datsun 240 z which appears to be all stock aside from havin ultralight rims . But, pop the hood and theres a CHEVY SMALLBLOCK and six speed tranny . Shes my sleeper . Anyway keep her as is and shell go a long time . Oh and do the right thing and buy a new top . Dont duct-tape it !!!! LOL . Ace

i hate to tell you this but mustangs of that era only came in a 4 or 8 cylinder , so unless the motor was swapped, it looks like your gettin a 4 banger!

You are WRONG. This is a stock engine. You run the VIN# and it tells you "1986 Ford Mustang LX/GT 3.8L 2bbl"

So whoever you got that info from, it is incorrect. This is a stock car, the engine has never been swapped, because also the motor # matches the frame number. Good day to you.
