where is the first example? and also the second? 007 never said he filed a claim, he just said he didnt get what he paid for. Your buddy apparently proved his case that they were what was advertised

007 didn't get what he paid for nor did he get his money back- no protection. If it was an ebay item, pay pal would have given the money back.

I'm pretty sure you have to file a claim in either case. I can put a link up to a 3ww deal that the buyer was refunded by paypal and all he had to do was open a claim and prove his case.

I did some internet searching on the subject. Seems to be hit and miss. Either way I don't think you get same protection on ebay as off ebay.

I'm at work and asked my co-worker about his situation. He said paypal never did any invention and just closed the case.

It depends on your account and how you fund it. If you have a PayPal Buyer Credit account, basically the PayPal credit card, and you use that to fund a purchase and select goods as your purchase type and the seller is a verified member, which is a stupid requirement because for the last two years now you have to be verified to receive payments, and you file a claim it will go through the dispute process. If you file a claim on a payment funded by balance or bank account they are not as forgiving if its other than eBay. Basically if you use their credit card then you get all the protection, they kiss your butt, otherwise your on your own unless your also using ebay.
