How do I rebuild a Honda pull starter?

I have not even installed it yet. I am trying to get it to recoil off the trike.

You preload the spring before youthread the rope thru the housing and put the pull handle on the rope.

Thats one way of doing it in the video but IMO thats the harder way LOL . Install the rope on the pully and give it 3 complete turns with tension and slip the rope threw the hole !! I think I could have done 3 recoils in the 15 min it took that guy to do the rebuild , also melt the ends of the rope with a lighter so they dont fray .

Great video! I isntalled the rope first, then tride to wind it. No wonder it does not work.
