What are the advantages of this? Do you have to use the 250r tripples?
I did the full 250r front end swap over the winter also did the 350x rear shock swap to, it wasn't that easy the 250r stem was smaller in dia and much longer then the 200x, I ended up boring out the 250r tree and shaving it done to I think 17mm to get it to all go together http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthr...28stage-one%29

The easiest way is the way torque did it. Just have the triples bored to 35mm. Your stock 200x triples are 33mm so you still have enough meat on the triple to prevent cracking. Boring to 35mm will allow you to run the 83-84 250r front end.
the rake was pushed out a little more i found that it handled a little better over stock in sand and hard pack and it was aloud ed me to use the front brake a little more when going into a shape corner. all in all i am very happy with it bu i may go back to the 200x trees like ever one else is running. One bad thing about the 250r trees is that you can't run the 200x head light, thats why i had the dumb 3'' lights on mine

Lets see the price you get on "boring triples". They aren't easy to hold/mount etc and it has to be dead nutz........
All our government does is distract us while they steal from us, misspend our tax $ and ruin our country
it cost me $80 seeing how they only had to bore out one hole

it cost me big cash 300 bucks canadian. thats why i wanted to know if it was worth using the 250r triples. the shop that did the work said that they could do the next set for about half. they spent lots of time trying to clamp them in the fixture to get the angle right on.

hmmm so it sounds like the cheaper route is to use 250R tripples and have them bored out to accept a 200X steering stem. Gives me something to think about Thanks guys I appreciate the impute

Yeah, it is the cheaper route, but not the easiest.
That amount of money sounds like a lot to me, not saying its wrong, just shocked by the sticker price. I have a local machine shop in St. Louis that does all of my boring work. They just bored my front fork stabilizer (from 55MM to 61MM) for 20 bucks and it had to be dead-nuts on as well. I wonder what they would charge to bore your triples? They are slow as hell, but perform very precise work. If you are interested in getting a quote, send me your triples and I will take them over to the shop for you.
