As the title says, how is it removed? By looking at diagrams it looks like it should just slide ofg, am I missing something here? Once it's off i can remove broken bearings, replace them and get my Tri-Z running again. Thanks for any help!

YTZ250S - In pieces, soon to be running!
you have to split the cases to replace the bearings... and you need to buy a fly wheel puller .. thats the only way.
Thanks for that, I have already tried using a bolt puller kit which does the same job but the thing just wouldn't budge, it's been sitting for over a week and still nothing even with WD40. As for splitting the case I already knew that but thanks for saying as I may not have known about it.

You need one of these and you need to know how to load it up with force and rap it with astraight on to free the part. Don't risk your parts with other styles of pullers.

Buy the correct puller for the application for under 20.00. With a rubber mallet and under pressure from the right puller...a few whacks and it should come off. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motion-Pro-F...e17d38&vxp=mtr Good luck..
