I've found a few places that will do it for $50 for a bond, also the abandoned route is sometimes a MUCH easier and cheaper way to go especially if the thing has never been titled before. One thing I will say is be very careful! There are some cases where even a dmv AND local police inspection a bike will often come up as not stolen however after you get all the paperwork processed and the DMV agent puts the info in the computer you might have a police officer come sit next to you in the dmv for questioning of a stolen vehicle!! It happened to me recently...I won't share specifics online and was lucky to keep the bike.
What happens is there are instances where a bike could have been reported stolen a very long time ago, in my case a couple decades. These cases will not show up in aztheft.com or having the local pd run it. Reason being is many of them get "purged" from the system or were just too old and never entered. However when it comes time to process all the info in the final system of the dmv for a title a stolen report can show up in the main national network. This can be a problem when titling old vintage bikes and 3 wheelers.
