    atc 250r timing advance

    do you think the adjustable timing advance plate will wake up my 85 atc 250r? will it give me more topend or bottomend? also do you think it would give me a little bit more speed? will it rev faster? and how do you adjust it, like how much per each side? please help thankyou here is the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-ATC-TR...20710959247%26

    that version of the timing plate is an nonadjustable and is set a 4 degrees advanced. there is one that is adjustable from -4 to +5

    that was the wrong link but what would an adjustable one do? anything? would i loose top or bottomend?

    depends on which way you adjust it advancing will fire sooner before the piston hits tdc resulting in a more complete burn you may gain some power but not much. retarding it will make you lose power the only time you would do this is when running a big bore or possibly a very high compression. i had one of these on my 310 with a pump gas dome and tried it in -2, neutral and +2 and i didnt notice any difference.

    so dont even bother adjusting it on a stock motor?
