    "Quad-Z" Fix or partout...

I'm interested in what people here think I should do with this thing. Story on it is my dad got it a good 7 years ago or so as a Pretty ugly Tri-Z 250 1985. He didn't like three wheelers and it was before my first one, so I guess you can say we didn't know better. Anyway he put a suzuki 230 quad front end on it and rode it once and has been sitting since. I bought it a few months ago since he was in need of money, and I'm tossed up between parting it out and profiting, or fixing it up and riding it.

Of what I know currently, it needs the following parts...

    Right side engine cover
Kick starter gears, shaft, and kick starter
    Kick starter cover
rear shock (the one on it is completely blown out, just a spring basicaly)
seat is usable but has a cloth covering, never checked into it
Rear fenders are just nasty (thick black plastic rivited to it)
Fuel delivery issue, not sure if it is the fuel pump (if it has one), tank screen/lines, or the carb. Ran great for about 1/2 a mile then is starving for fuel. Let it sit and is ready to go again.
no clue on the rear brakes, fronts appear to work though

Going to need rear tires, but i have other three wheelers I could pull from.

Entire front end with good front tire, lights, good plastic etc was sold for $20, the guy that bought it gave the money and basically ran with it to get it home lol. I remember it still had the part of the frame still there with bearings etc from being cut off. I'm sure them parts are worth a lot more than that after seeing how much other parts go for.

Anyway,if I can get the engine parts I need to make it ride able and the shock for a pretty fair/cheap price, I'll pobably go with the fix. If not, I think the repairs would cost more than the value of it (as a quad). When I find my camera I'll throw some pics up.

    *EDIT*

I found a Tri-Z on craigslist, emailing the owner for photos and to make sure it has the parts I need to make a Tri-Z three wheeler again . $350 for a "roller", but it comes with a "locked up" engine, hoping it's a 1985 with good side covers . Only down side.... 150 miles away.

X2, I would not waste my time or money fixing yours, but it would be a good parts machine for that other one.

Yea I agree with both of you, $350 for a complete three wheeler should be a good deal even if it is in poor shape. I made this post mainly about the quad one I have but that find on craigslist might get me into the 2 stroke world lol.
