    84 300r jetting

My son got a 84 250r with the honda 300r kit it has the stock carb still,it has a "fresh " top end on it so just trying to check it over and see why it needed a fresh top end,the main jet is a 178 soldered and drilled much smaller ,I see stock for the 250r is 158 so just wondering what to order to start with,I couldnt find much on jetting a 300 with the stock carb, from what I understand the kit came with a new jet for the carb, what was the size anybody know ??? appreciate any help here ,thanks

Start with a 175 and go from there...if you look on ebay you can get a nice jet kit for around 50.00, and with that 2 stroke, you'll want a kit like that.
