Got a new (to me quad) Kawasaki 450

I was getting bored with my KFX 400 and TRX 250R so I sold them both and bought this 08 KFX 450R. It is very low hours as it was bought new in February 2011 (!) Crazy how the new atv market died. The 08s came with black outer fenders and a 2-tone seat so I changed them up right away to the 09+ style with all green fenders and all black seat. Don't really plan to do too much more to it other than a slip-on pipe just to look nicer and save weight over the stock can.

It's a blast to ride and one of the few 450's with reverse which is the reason I got it. Riding my 250R in the woods sucked with kick start and no reverse.

Nice, if I was to get a newer 450 quad it would be the Kawasaki.. It has also won most of the shootouts I have read.
    Rides:
1986 ATC250R (sectional pipe and Klemm Research silencer)
1986 ATC250R (Desert Bike, WAX-ON seat, Dual Cibie lights, Steering Stabilizer)
1979 ATC110 (Bandito frame and forks, Turbo wheels, disc braked)
    1982 ATC70 (Lifan manual 125)
    1987 LT80 (piped, widened)

Nice machine. I have a few friends that have the KFX 450's and seem to really like them.

Geez. Don't all 450's. My brother has changed 10 Honda CRF/TRX450R cranks. I'm starting to think the Polaris Predator 500 is the way to go. Its the only 4-wheeler I know of that has the power of a 450 with a carb and solid rear axle that doesn't blow up every time you ride it. lol.

I've been racing my 2008' kfx450r for nearly 5 seasons racing and its awesome, the cranks don't like high comp pistons!! thats why mine is stock motor but i've got an LRD ported head with webcams to go on for next years racing.. mine has done over 100 hours of racing ! the only recurring fault i've had is throttle position sensors.. i've replaced 3 of them.
best cheap mod is GT Thunder xc rear linkage it transforms the back end! and the air intake pipe is shite!!
If it ain't sideways......what's the point!!
