    Tecate friction plate question

    Does anyone know what the difference between the 84 and 85 tecate clutch friction plates are? The have different part numbers for the friction plates but tthe clutch bastkets etc are the same?

    they all will work 84-87 the difference is the later plate were directional. the 84 plates were not

    I have never seen any difference but I'm sure they changed them for a reason.

    '84's chatter, thats the reason for the different fiber shape. I put '85 plates in my '84, its better than it was, but truth be known all my tecate's chatter at first start off, except the kx500.
